Export Tool

The Export Tool in WeGive allows you to download key data from your dashboard in a clean, structured CSV format. Whether you're analyzing fundraising performance, donor activity, or campaign details, the Export Tool gives you flexible access to the data you need.

What Are Exports?

Exports are downloadable files that contain the raw data from specific tables in your WeGive dashboard. These files are formatted as CSVs (comma-separated values) and can be opened in Excel, Google Sheets, or any data analysis tool. Each export captures a snapshot of your selected data model—such as transactions, campaigns, recurring plans, supporters, or giving summaries—at the time of export.

Where to Access Exports

To view or manage your exports:

  1. Navigate to the Data tab.

  2. Click on Exports to open your Exports Table.

From here, you’ll see a list of all recent data exports with the following information:

  • ID of the export

  • Model Type (e.g. Fund, Recurring Plan, Campaign, Transactions, Supporters, Giving Summaries)

  • File Download Link to access the CSV file

  • Row Count showing the number of entries in the export

  • Status indicating whether the export is Processed, Pending, or Running

  • Created At Timestamp noting when the export was initiated

How to Export Data

To initiate an export:

  1. Go to the table for the type of data you wish to export (e.g., Transactions, Campaigns, Supporters).

  2. Use filters or selections if needed to narrow down your data.

  3. Click the Export button on the table.

  4. Your export will begin processing. Once ready, it will appear under the Exports section in the Data tab.

Features and Customizations

  • Model-Based Filtering: You can export specific types of records such as donor data, transaction history, pledge information, or recurring plan details.

  • Row Count Tracking: Easily verify the number of rows in your file before download.

  • Timestamp Logging: Each export is tagged with the date and time it was created, helping you keep track of your reporting history.

  • Downloadable CSV: All exports are delivered in a CSV format compatible with most spreadsheet and database software.

Best Practices

  • Always apply filters in your source table before exporting if you only want a subset of data.

  • For recurring reporting, save a naming convention or timestamp on your local copy to avoid overwriting previous exports.

  • If an export status remains in “Running” for an extended period, refresh the page or reinitiate the export.
