Guide to Donor Journeys and Donor Journey Histories in WeGive

WeGive's Donor Journeys and Donor Journey Histories help you visualize and manage how supporters move through automated engagement sequences, such as onboarding flows, re-engagement campaigns, or stewardship series. Each feature provides different layers of visibility—one shows where a supporter currently is, and the other shows their full history.

1. Donor Journeys Table

What It Shows

The Donor Journeys Table displays a supporter’s current position within a journey. It helps you quickly identify where each donor is and what step they're on right now.

Key Columns

  • ID: Internal identifier for the journey instance.

  • Donor: Name of the supporter in the journey.

  • Journey Name: The journey the donor is currently progressing through.

  • Step: The current step (e.g., Send Message, Wait, Finished).

  • Last Activity: The most recent timestamp indicating activity or progression within the journey.

  • Status: Whether the donor is currently In Progress or has Finished the journey.

Filters Available

You can filter by:

  • Campaign

  • Donor

  • Journey Name

  • Step Name

  • Status (e.g., In Progress, Finished)

  • Last Activity Date Range

Use Cases

  • Monitor how far along donors are in your nurture or reactivation series.

  • Identify donors who are stuck on a particular step.

  • Audit active vs. completed journeys.

2. Donor Journey Histories Table

What It Shows

The Donor Journey Histories Table logs every step a supporter has taken in a journey. Instead of showing just the current step, this view allows you to track the full journey path for each donor.

Key Columns

  • ID: Unique ID for each step instance.

  • Donor: Name of the supporter.

  • Journey: The name of the journey they are or were a part of.

  • Step: The specific step completed (e.g., Send Message, Time Delay).

  • Processed At: The date and time that particular step was processed.

What Makes This Different

  • A single supporter can appear in this table multiple times, once for each step they completed within a journey.

  • This table is ideal for reviewing past activity rather than current status.

Use Cases

  • Review full engagement histories for individual supporters.

  • Audit if and when messages or actions were completed.

  • Troubleshoot journey misfires or delays.
