Charging or Recording an Offline Donation in the WeGive Dashboard


You can manually record donations received outside of WeGive’s online checkouts — such as cash or check — directly within the Dashboard. There are two ways to do this: from the Payments Table or from a Supporter Record.


Option 1: Record from the Payments Table

  1. Navigate to Payments in your Dashboard.

  2. Click the ➕ Plus icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Search for and select the Supporter you want to credit the donation to.

  4. Under Payment Method, select Cash or Check.

  5. Enter:

    • Donation Amount

    • Payment Type (Cash or Check)

    • (Optional) Tracking Number for checks

    • (Optional) Upload Image of the check

    • (Optional) Tribute Information, if applicable

  6. Click Publish to save the offline donation.

This will immediately create a donation record in the supporter’s giving history.


Option 2: Record from the Supporter Record

  1. Open the Supporters tab.

  2. Click into the Supporter you want to record a donation for.

  3. In the top-right corner, open the Actions dropdown.

  4. Select Record Offline Donation.

  5. Fill in the Amount, Payment Type, and any additional details.

  6. Click Publish to create the donation record.


Result

Once saved, the donation will appear in:

  • The Payments Table (with “Cash” or “Check” as the payment type, indicated by the WeGive "G" symbol)

  • The Supporter’s donation history

Offline donations can later be used for reporting, campaign totals, or reconciliation.
