Troubleshooting: Logging Into Your WeGive Dashboard as a New User

When you are invited to access your organization’s WeGive dashboard for the first time, you should be able to click the invite link in your email and set up your login. However, in some cases, you may see a screen asking for an Organization Code instead of being taken to the login or account setup page.

This issue is very common and is usually caused by one of the scenarios below.


Why Am I Being Asked for an Organization Code?

You may be seeing the Organization Code page instead of the login setup for one of the following reasons:

1. You Were Already Logged Into a Different WeGive Dashboard

If you already have access to another WeGive account and you are currently logged into that dashboard, your browser will redirect you to the Organization Code screen.

Solution:

  • Log out of all active WeGive dashboards.

  • Return to your email and click the original invite link again.

  • This should launch the account setup for the correct organization.


2. You Tried Logging In With a Different Email Address

You must use the exact same email address that your invitation was sent to. If you try logging in with a different email, WeGive will not recognize your access and may prompt for an Organization Code.

Solution:

  • Confirm which email address the invitation was sent to.

  • Log out completely if needed.

  • Click the invitation link again and sign in with that same email.


3. You Were Given a Direct Dashboard Link Instead of the Invite Link

Access can only be granted through the invitation email. If you try to access the dashboard using a bookmarked link, shared URL, or direct link, the system will not recognize you yet and may show the Organization Code screen.

Solution:

  • Locate your email invitation.

  • Click the invitation link directly from the email.

  • Complete your login setup from there.


Additional Note: Invitation Links Can Expire

If it has been a while since you were invited, your original link may no longer be valid.

Solution:

  • Ask your organization admin to resend your invite.

  • Before clicking the new invite link:

    • Log out of all WeGive dashboards.

    • Close the tab.

    • Open the new invite email and click the link.
