The Click Performance feature helps you understand which links in your messages are driving engagement—showing you exactly what your supporters are clicking on, how often, and who clicked what.
This is especially useful for evaluating message effectiveness, testing calls to action, and optimizing donor engagement.
What Is Click Performance?
Click Performance tracks every link clicked in a message, not just the last one. It provides a full view of supporter interaction by logging:
- Which links were clicked
- Who clicked them
- How many times each link was clicked
- Which links were the top performers
It works across all messages—not just checkouts—so you can track engagement with any URL you include in an email or SMS.
How to Enable Click Tracking
To use this feature, you must first enable message tracking in your platform settings:
- Go to Settings
- Navigate to the Email tab
- Enable Message Tracking
Note: Click tracking only works for messages sent after this setting is turned on.
Where to View Click Performance
Click performance data is available on individual message records or analytics dashboards (depending on your platform’s setup). Once tracking is enabled, you’ll see:
- A list of every URL included in a message
- A breakdown of:
- Total click count
- Unique supporters who clicked specific links
- Top-performing links
- Total click count
Example Use Cases
- Testing Engagement: Compare performance of two links—e.g., “Donate Now” vs. “Learn More.”
- A/B Testing CTAs: Use different versions of a message and compare click volume on each version’s links.
- Identifying High-Intent Supporters: See who is clicking deeper into your emails or repeatedly clicking donation links.
This feature gives you a clearer picture of how your messages are performing and what content resonates most with your audience—so you can continually refine your outreach.
