Donor Logins Guide

Track supporter engagement through portal access history

The Donor Logins feature provides visibility into which supporters have accessed their Donor Portal, when they first logged in, and when they last used it. This tool helps organizations monitor donor engagement and identify trends in supporter activity.

The Donor Portal itself is a secure, personalized space where supporters can manage:

  • Donation history

  • Payment methods

  • Recurring plans

  • Impact cards and stories

  • Communication preferences

  • Tax documents

  • Peer-to-peer fundraisers and pledges

Tracking logins allows you to measure how often supporters are using this space and tailor follow-up strategies accordingly.

Accessing the Donor Portal Logins Table

  1. In your WeGive dashboard, go to the Donor Portal tab.

  2. Click on Donor Logins in the sidebar menu.

This opens the Donor Logins Table, showing a list of all supporters who have logged into their donor portal.

Table Overview

Each login record includes:

  • Login ID: A unique identifier for each login session

  • Email: The email address tied to the supporter

  • Donor Name: The full name of the supporter

  • Date Created: The timestamp when the donor portal login was first created

  • Last Used: The most recent date and time the supporter accessed their donor portal

Filter Options

You can refine your view using filters for:

  • Active or Archived Logins: See only current or previously archived logins

  • Donor: Search for specific supporters by name or email

  • Donor Type: Filter between Individual and Company supporters

These filters help you quickly identify active users or segment by donor type.

Actions Available

From the Donor Logins table, you can:

  • Archive a login record
Useful for cleaning up old or inactive supporter accounts

  • Tag the supporter
Apply one or more supporter tags for segmentation in messaging or automation

Example tags might include:

  • "Active Donor Portal User"

  • "First-Time Login"

  • "Needs Re-Engagement"

Use Cases

  • Track Engagement: Identify who is actively using their portal to self-manage giving and preferences

  • Follow Up: Create lists of supporters who haven’t logged in and encourage them to explore their portal

  • Segment Communications: Send more personalized messages to portal users based on activity or frequency

Best Practices

  • Pair this data with donation history to assess whether frequent portal users are more engaged donors

  • Use tags to automate follow-ups or reminders through email journeys

  • Regularly export the login data to measure login trends over time
