Fundraiser Element

Understand and create a Fundraiser page

What is a Fundraiser Element?

WeGive's Fundraiser Element is a tool that allows organizations to create a shareable fundraising page. This page can be distributed to supporters who can donate directly or start their own peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraisers, which will contribute toward the overall fundraising goal of the organization.

The fundraiser pages come equipped with several key features, including a banner image, a goal progress bar, a donate button, a fundraise button, a shareable link, a list of top supporters, recent activity updates, and information about related fundraisers. Supporters have the option to either make a direct donation to the fundraiser or initiate their own peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising efforts. These P2P fundraisers can be shared with family and friends to further support your organization. Importantly, all funds raised through the P2P initiatives will contribute to the total amount displayed on the main fundraiser page.

How to Create a Fundraise Element

To create your Fundraiser Element, navigate to the Elements > Fundraiser tab in the Dashboard. Here, you can upload a background image and provide a title and description for your fundraiser. If you want the proceeds from this fundraiser to contribute to a larger parent fundraiser, you can connect it accordingly. Additionally, set a start date and an end date for your fundraiser.

Additional Settings:

1. Only Accept Donations From P2P Fundraising: This setting will remove the "Donate" button on a fundraiser page. If enabled, supporters would have to create Peer-to-Peer fundraisers from the fundraiser page and proceeds collected from the P2P Fundraisers will roll up into the overarching fundraiser's goal bar.

2. Show Leader Board: This setting will display top donors who have given to your fundraiser or related fundraisers/P2P fundraisers connected to the overarching Fundraiser Element.

3. Show Activity: This setting will display the recent activity on the Fundraiser Element.

4. Show Child Fundraisers: This setting will display related other fundraisers and P2P Fundraisers that are connected to this overarching Fundraiser Element.

5. Hide Fundraise Button: This button will disable the ability to create a P2P Fundraiser from the Fundraising Element.

6. Allow Donations after End Date: This setting will disregard the end date on the Fundraiser Element, allowing donors to continue to donate after the fundraiser has ended. If the Fundraise Button is enabled, supporters will also be able to continue to create fundraisers.
