The WeGive Tag Import Tool allows you to import a list of supporters and apply tags, making them usable in communication lists, journeys, impact stories, impact numbers, and more. This tool ensures that you can efficiently segment and organize supporters using predefined identifiers.
Important Considerations

Supporters Must Already Exist in WeGive: If a supporter is not yet in the system, you must first add them through the Create Import before proceeding with tagging.

Supported Identifiers: You must include at least one of the following identifiers to match records correctly:

WeGive ID

CRM ID

Custom Reference ID

Steps to Import and Tag Supporters
1. Initiate a New Import

Navigate to the Data > Imports section.

Click the blue plus sign to start a new import.
2. Configure the Import

Select Tag as the type of import.

Choose the record type (Individual or Company).

Map the corresponding data fields, ensuring that at least one of the required identifiers is included.
3. Complete the Import Process

Upload your file and proceed with the import.

Wait for the import to complete successfully.
4. Apply Tags to Imported Supporters

Once the import is complete, click the Actions dropdown.

Select Tag Records.

Assign the appropriate tag(s) to the imported supporters.
