Getting Started with WeGive
Welcome to WeGive! We’re excited to help you not only start raising more money, but powerfully connect with your supporters. We created this step-by-step guide to make your transition to WeGive seamless. Please complete the following steps to get your organization up and running as quickly as possible.
From the Settings section of your navigation bar, click on the Organization tab. This section allows you to add important details such as the time zone in which you are processing your transactions, your giving statement details, and your organization’s website that can be accessed from the Donor Portal.
Collaborate with other members of your organization by inviting them to access the WeGive dashboard. Adding team members can be done on the Team tab in the Settings section.
On the Installation tab, add a custom domain for your default checkout and donor portal by designating a custom domain alias and copying and pasting the CNAME record type, name, and value to your DNS provider.
Apply for Payment Processing with WeGive from the Payments tab or contact your Customer Success Manager to integrate your own payment processor.
On the Email tab, you can add a custom email address from which to send your branded email messages. Connect an email inbox that your organization owns by adding the CNAME and two TXT values to your DNS provider.
On the Numbers tab, buy a phone number for about $5/month to send branded SMS messages.
In the Donor Portal section, add your logo, organization colors, favicon, and customize the Donor Portal Profiles and Navigation.
Upload an image, add description text, input suggested amounts, customize checkout rules, and more under the Elements section of your dashboard by clicking into your Donor Portal Checkout.
Customize your default triggered messages for Donation Success, Donation Failed, Recurring Donation Created, Donation Processing, and Tribute Made (optional). Here's some examples.
Integrate your CRM/CHMS using one of our WeGive integrations or import your donors to migrate your contact records, transaction history, and recurring plans.
