When you click on the Messages tab in your WeGive Dashboard, you will see a list of your four default triggered messages. Default messages include a Donation Thank You, Recurring Donation Setup, Donation Failed, and Tribute email.

To customize your default messages, simply click the name and then click the attached email.

From here, click the Edit button to customize your default triggered email.

From the "Type" dropdown, you can create your message as an email, text, handwritten note, or platform message.

Here are some example messages you may find helpful when creating your triggered messages.

Use the "@" symbol to add variables to contextualize your data. "CC" or "BCC" yourself to the email if you would like to receive copies of your default messages.

If you want to customize the appearance of your email messages, select your "Email Template" from the dropdown list. You can learn more about how to create Email Templates here. The content created in the body off your message will be injected into your Email Template.

To include videos in your message, simply include the URL to the video anywhere in the body of your text.

If you want to create specific groups to specify when and to whom you would like to send your message to, click "Add New Rule Group" to customize your groups. From here, you can filter your audience by Campaigns, Elements, Payment Methods, Donation Frequency, Amount Fundraised, Donor Name, and more!

For example, let's say you wanted to send a different Thank You email for your monthly donors than for your weekly donors. You could create one triggered recurring donation email with a rule group for "Frequency is Monthly" and create a different triggered recurring donation email with a rule group for "Frequency is Weekly."

You can use the "When to Send" button to delay the time period between when the email is triggered and when it sends.

You can also send broadcast messages that are not attached to any triggers. Click here to learn more.
